The man accused of fleeing in a Floyd County police car faces more charges in connection with his flight.

Micah Dean Scheer, 32, of 3335 Armstrong Drive, Cedar Bluff, Ala., is charged with possession of tools for the commission of a crime, three felony counts of theft by taking and two misdemeanor counts of theft by taking in addition to his initial charges.

According to jail reports and Floyd County Police Maj. Mark Wallace:

Scheer fled from a Walker Mountain Road home on an all-terrain vehicle Monday afternoon after taking a jar filled with about $50 in change.

During a search for him in a wooded area, Scheer was able to double back and drive off in a Floyd County officer’s car. He quickly got stuck in a field and was arrested after a short chase on foot.

Scheer was previously charged with second-degree burglary, interference with government property, fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, reckless driving, and willful obstruction of law enforcement officers.

Scheer also faces a parole violation, Floyd County Jail reports state. He remained in jail Tuesday night without bond.
