2 arrested in Lindale on child molestation charges in separate incidents

Floyd County police arrested two men on child molestation charges in separate incidents after setting up a sting in Lindale.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Both men had expected to meet with a 14-year-old when they were taken into custody near the Gilbreath Recreation Center on Garden Avenue.

Maurice Eugene Stocks, 38, of 2605 Maple Road, was arrested Saturday on felony charges of aggravated child molestation and pandering a person under the age of 18.

Stocks is accused of soliciting an underage person to perform an act of prostitution and taking steps to commit sodomy with a person he thought was 14.

Clifford Allen Palmer, 39, of 422 Friday Road, was arrested early Sunday morning on felony charges of child molestation and sexual exploitation of children.

Palmer is accused of using an electronic device to lure a person he thought was 14 “for the purposes of child molestation.”

Both men were being held in jail without bond Sunday night.
