2 accused of hindering arrest

A man and a woman were released from jail Friday after each of them was charged with felony hindering the apprehension or punishment of a criminal on Thursday.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

On July 29, Jason Gregory Carter, 33, of 398 Shorthorn Road in Silver Creek, and April Michelle Purvis, 43, of 118 Marion Dairy Road in Silver Creek, were arrested around 9 p.m. Thursday.

Carter wouldn’t provide information to deputies who were trying to serve a parole warrant at his home on Gary Lamar Purvis. Deputies warned him that associating or contributing to Gary Purvis’ ability to evade authorities would get him arrested.

April Purvis, who is Gary Purvis’ sister, failed to notify deputies about her contact with her brother on several occasions.

Carter and April Purvis were released from jail Friday on $1,300 bond each.
