2 accused of having meth after traffic stop

Two men remained in jail pending posting of bonds Monday night after being accused of having methamphetamine during a traffic stop.

According to Floyd County Jail reports:

Nicolas Alexander Scates, 32, of Knoxville, Tennessee, and Jonathan Ray Lester, 30, of 6 Larsen Ridge, Adairsville, were arrested Sunday at 10:52 p.m. at the intersection of Calhoun Highway and Mango Road.

Scates was driving recklessly and when officers pulled him over, they found methamphetamine and drug-related objects in the car. Scates is charged with felony possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession of drug-related objects, driving with a suspended license and reckless driving. His bond was set Monday at $7,900.

Lester is charged with felony possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession of drug-related objects. His bond was set Monday at $5,700.
