Susan Pilcher Wilson, age 62, of Rome, passed away Monday, November 6, 2017. At the time of her passing, she was holding the hands of her friends, loved ones and family in a moment that was filled with mercy and peace given by her gracious God.
Susan was born December 14, 1954, the daughter of Sammie Plemons Pilcher and the late James Hershel Pilcher. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Allen Lee Wilson, on December 19, 1995, and an infant daughter, Holland Wilson.
Susan was associated with Traditions in downtown Rome and also owned and maintained rental property while enjoying retirement. She was a loving mother, grandmother, wife and free-spirited individual who loved being outdoors, spending time with her son, grandson and family and looking for flea market bargains on the side while enjoying life, whatever came her way. Even in the moment of her diagnosis of cancer, she looked for her ray of sunshine, the silver lining.
Survivors include her son, Aaron Wilson, and his wife Hollie, Rome; one grandson, Gavin Lee Wilson, Rome; her mother, Sammie Pilcher, Rome; two sisters, Cynthia Pilcher, Rome, and Lori Pilcher, LaFayette; one brother, Michael Pilcher, Rome; and special friends, Cynthia McWhorter and Linda Smith. The family would like to thank her caregiver, Delta Bentley, for her special care during her illness.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 9, 2017, from 4 until 6 p.m. at Daniel's Funeral Home. A service of celebration will then be held at 6 p.m. in the Griffin Memorial Chapel of Daniel’s Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Holt officiating.
