Mrs. Sheryll Lynn Cowan, of Silver Creek, passed away Sunday, February 4, 2018, in the comfort of her son’s home.
Mrs. Cowan was born on October 23, 1946. She graduated from West Rome High School and also attended Shorter College before marrying the love of her life, Gary M. Cowan. After marrying Gary, they moved to Athens, Georgia so that Gary could finish his degree from the University of Georgia and become a pharmacist. Shortly after moving back to Rome, Gary and Sheryll began GMC Valu-Mart, located in Coosa, Ga. Sheryll leaves this legacy and wonderful business behind, but she loved coming to work each day at GMC until she no longer could. She loved watching her grandkids in their sports and spending time with them. She had a group of dear friends in the Joy Class at Pleasant Valley South Baptist Church that she loved spending time with also. Sheryll’s hobbies included gardening and playing the piano and organ. She truly loved life.
