Mrs. Sallie Lee Phillips, age 77, of Rome, passed away on Friday, Sept. 15, 2017, at her residence.
She was born in Cherokee County, Ala. on June 1, 1940, daughter of the late Marvin Amos Williams and the late Syble Camp Williams. She was a retired employee of the Vistakon Company and was a member of the King’s Road Baptist Church in Jacksonville, Fla. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Carroll George Phillips, in 2004.
Survivors include two daughters, Marlene Turner (John), Rome, and Lynne LaFrance (Rick), Jacksonville, Fla.; two sisters, Audrey Bryant (Bob), Silver Creek, and Joyce Loveless, Rome; a brother, Marvin Williams (Jane), Rome; five grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews; her companion, Fred Higginbotham, Rome, also survives.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2017, at the Riverside Memorial Park in Jacksonville, Fla. The Rev. Lee Whitaker will officiate.
The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday.
