Ronald “Runt” Glenn Calvert Sr., 82, of Armuchee, lost his battle with dementia on Sunday, March 4, 2018. He was born on November 11, 1935 to the late Ralph Spencer Calvert and Mary Magdalene Cox of Sheridan, Indiana. He retired from Florida Tile. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Larry Dean Calvert; his daughter, Vicky Lynn Johnson; and his grandson, William Lonnie Garrett.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 37 years, Loretta Joyce Taylor Calvert, of Armuchee; his sons, Larry (Dena) Johnson and Ronald (Angie) Calvert Jr.; his daughters, Kay (Bryan) Dostart, Sheila (Josh) Ray, and Tammy Carroll; his brothers, Dorsey (Joan) Calvert and Doran (Mary) Calvert; his six beloved sisters, Jesslyn Sutton, Cleora Kouns, Cleta Stapleton, Patty (Dale) Ogle, Marilyn (Dick) Roberts, and Rita (Chuck) Barker; his grandchildren, Amber, Tabitha, Becky, Jaime, Jake, Christy, Megan, and Jessie; and 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson, 20 nephews, 11 nieces and several great-nephews and nieces; special care-giver Crystal Carter and many special friends including his much loved cat, Molly.

Ronald served his country as a proud U.S. Marine. He was an avid fisherman and motorcycle enthusiast. He loved building and creating things with his sharp mind and talented hands. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He was a member of First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ, in Sheridan, Indiana.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 9, 2018, at 6:00 p.m. at Oaknoll Chapel. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until the service hour. At other hours, the family will be receiving friends at 11 Border Road.
