Mr. Robert Earl “Bob” Frazier, age 85, of Rome, passed away Friday evening, June 16, 2017, at his residence after suffering for many years from heart disease.
Mr. Frazier was born in Trion, Ga. on January 3, 1932, son of the late Robert Lee Frazier and the late Annie Idell Farr Frazier. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Melvin Glenn “Red” Frazier in 1979, and William L. “Bill” Frazier in 2015. Mr. Frazier attended Pepperell Schools in Lindale and graduated from Cave Spring High School. He served in the United States Air Force for more than eight years, being honorably discharged at the rank of Staff Sergeant. Mr. Frazier retired from Liberty National Life Insurance Co. following more than 20 years as a Insurance Professional and Sales Manager. He was a member of the Second Avenue United Methodist Church. Mr. Frazier was also a 50 plus years member of the Lindale Lodge #455 F. & A. M., the Low 12 Club, and the American Legion Post #136 in Lindale.
Survivors include his wife, the former Vesper Jo Reynolds, to whom he was married on June 25, 1948; a son, Greg Frazier, Wheat Ridge, CO; a sister-in-law, Dot Frazier, Lindale; a brother-in-law, Herman Robinson, Silver Creek; three grandchildren, four great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and many cousins also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 20, 2017, at 11 a.m. in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, with his Pastor, the Rev. Millie Kim officiating. Interment will follow in the Frazier Family Lot in EastView Cemetery with the American Legion Post #5 Honor Guard extending military honors.
The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Monday from 5 until 7 p.m. At other hours, they may be contacted at the residence.
Active and honorary pallbearers are requested to assemble at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. and are as follows: Active: Ronnie Farmer, Dennis Beckham, Phil Franssen, Tommy Jones, Greg Gaston, Phil Taylor, and Steve Davis. Honorary: Jerry Watford, Jim Burton, Bob Baker, Bill Carver, and David Gresham.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Second Avenue United Methodist Church, 801 E. 2nd Avenue, Rome, Ga., 30161.
