Mr. Nathan William Parris, age 72, of Rome, passed away Wednesday, October 25, 2017, in a local hospital.
Mr. Parris was born in Floyd County, Georgia on June 22, 1945, son of the late Frank Parris and the late Jewel Locklear Parris. He was a member of the Mountain View Baptist Church. Prior to retirement, Mr. Parris worked for Republic Distribution.
He loved his family and loved helping people, especially on their farms.
Survivors include his wife, Laura Williams Parris, to whom he was married on June 17, 1965; a daughter, Lenise Bruce, and her husband, Scott, Talking Rock; two sons, Bryan Parris, Cave Spring, and Nathan Daniel Parris, and his wife, Suzanne, Rome; seven grandchildren, Heidi Bruce, Hannah Jones, Aaron Bruce, Caleb Parris, Mattie Parris, Aniston Parris, and Braiden Parris; four great-grandchildren, Cole & Owen Mitchell, Gracie Jones, and Liam Bruce; a brother, Dewey Parris, Silver Creek; two sisters, Evie Buford, Rome, and Rella Jackson, Rome; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 29, 2017, at 3 p.m. at the Mountain View Baptist Church with the Rev. Rob Miller and the Rev. Shane Stephenson officiating. Interment will follow in the Mountain View Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Saturday from 4 until 6 p.m.
Pallbearers are asked to assemble at the church on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. and include Caleb Parris, Aaron Bruce, Craig Jones, Chad Terry, Jerry Smith, Todd Morgan, and Tim Morgan.
Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, has charge of the funeral arrangements.
