Mr. Jerry Ronald Burrows, better known by his friends as “Stamp Licker," age 82, of Rome, passed away on, Monday, October 2, 2017, at his residence.
Jerry was born in Gadsden, Alabama on March 21, 1935, son of the late Henry and Erma Vice Burrows. He was of the Baptist faith, loved golfing, gardening and collecting any antiques he could find. Jerry was an avid Georgia Tech fan, retired from the United States Postal Service as a postal clerk after 35 years, and was a Navy Veteran. Mr. Burrows is preceded in death by a son, Scott Burrows.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Burrows; son, Rusty, and his wife, Vanessa Burrows; two daughters, Rhonda, and her husband, Lamont Cornett, and April, and her husband, Jarratt Bryan. Five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren also survive.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Salmon Funeral Home on Friday, October 6, 2017, from 5:00-6:30 p.m.
