Mr. James Herring, age 71, of Rome, passed away Monday morning at Cedar Hill Nursing Home in Cedartown, Ga.
Mr. Herring was born Aug. 13, 1946 to the late John Raymond Herring and Ruby Carr Herring. Mr. Herring served in the Navy and was a truck driver prior to becoming disabled. Mr. Herring was preceded in death by three brothers: Melvin Herring, Hill Herring, and Thomas Herring.
Survivors include his mother, Ruby Carr Herring; two sisters, Shelia Samples and Pat Justice; an uncle, Jack Carr; an aunt, Edna West; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Graveside services for Mr. James Herring will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, November 29, 2017, in the Oaknoll Memorial Gardens with the Dr. Billy Rayburn officiating. The American Legion Post 5 Honor Guard will be conducting military rites.
Parnick Jennings Sr.'s Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 2750 Shorter Ave., Rome, Ga. 30165, has charge of the graveside services for Mr. James Herring.
