Mrs. Bobbie Veatrice Barton, age 90, of Silver Creek, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 3, 2018, at a local hospital.
Mrs. Barton was born in Floyd County on December 21, 1927, daughter of the late, Robert Lee Baker, and the late, Lena May Wyley Baker. She had spent her entire life in Floyd County and was retired from Pet Bakery in 1991 after 27 years of service. She was of the Baptist Faith. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, George Priest Barton and by several siblings.
Survivors include a daughter, Carol Loveless and her husband Tommy, Rome; three sons, Larry Barton and his wife, Evvylu, Hopkinsville, KY, Wayne Barton, Silver Creek, and Jerry Barton, and his wife, Linda, Cedartown; a brother William (Bill) Baker and his wife Betty, Silver Creek; six grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Graveside and interment services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2018 at the graveside at Wax Cemetery. The Rev. Jerry Brooks will officiate. Interment in Wax Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South on Monday from 5 to 7 p.m.
Pallbearers serving are asked to assemble at Wax Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday and include; Timothy Loveless, Michael Loveless, Ryan Barton, Owen Shepard, Tracey Warren and Leonardo Mercado.
Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel has charge of the funeral arrangements.
