The Floyd County Republican Party will host its 12th annual rally at the Richard B. Russell Airport Tillman Hangar on Saturday.
Chairman Andrew Garner said the rally on 304 Russell Field Road is the largest political event in the 14th Congressional District and maybe even Northwest Georgia.

The event historically draws around 300 people, and Garner expects this year’s rally to be no exception.
Gates open at 10 a.m. with the program beginning at 11 a.m. and running until 1:30 p.m.
There is no charge to attend, but a barbecue lunch from Duffy’s Deli can be purchased for $10 a plate and will be served starting at 10:30 a.m.
Georgia Attorney General Sam Olens, Georgia Department of Agriculture Commissioner Gary Black and Chairman of the Georgia Republican Party John Padgett are scheduled to speak. A complete list has not been finalized.
Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump’s campaign is planning on sending a representative to the rally, but Garner was unsure who it would be. He said an announcement will be made later this week.
State legislators Sen. Chuck Hufstetler, Rep. Eddie Lumsden, Rep. Katie Dempsey and Rep. Christian Coomer will be there too, Garner said.
Local Republican candidates who are contested in the Nov. 8 general election will also address the crowd.
Candidates speaking will be Allison Watters, Post 3 Floyd County Commission, Melinda Jeffers, District 5 Floyd County School Board, Barbara Penson, Superior Court Clerk, Leigh Patterson, District Attorney and Barry Henderson, Coroner.
“I think it’s the best opportunity you’ll have to meet face to face with those people you’ve elected to represent you on state and local levels,” Garner said.
Those attending can expect to interact with local elected officials, get the latest updates from the Trump campaign, and enjoy some fellowship and tasty food, Garner said.
