An employee at Riverside Chevrolet in Rome was arrested in Cherokee County, Alabama, after he left the dealership in a 2016 Tahoe and failed to return, according to reports.
According to the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office:
Jimmy Wayne Blair, 38, of Silver Creek, was arrested and charged with first degree receiving stolen property and attempting to elude police.
When Blair failed to return from fueling the Tahoe on Friday, a theft report was filed with the Rome Police Department and an on-board global positioning system was activated in the vehicle.
The GPS indicated the Tahoe was in Cherokee County and Lt. Bo Jolly spotted it on County Road 45. Jolly stopped the vehicle but Blair drove off and was stopped again by deputies and investigators on County Road 29.
Blair was in the Cherokee County Detention Center awaiting bond Sunday. He will face additional theft charges in Rome.
