An Alabama man who is accused of causing the death of a Cedartown man in a wreck on Ga. 140 in June was indicted on Friday.

Jesse Adam Ridgeway, 36, of Muscadine, was indicted on a homicide by vehicle charge by the Floyd County Grand Jury. He is accused of causing the death of 49-year-old William Chad Lance.

According to Georgia State Trooper Jeremy Battle, Ridgeway was driving a dump truck on Ga. 140 near the intersection of U.S. 27 when he struck Lance’s Acura. The dump truck continued another 75 yards before stopping going off the road and down an embankment.

He is charged with DUI, driving on the wrong side of the road, driving on suspended license, operating a vehicle with an expired tag and reckless driving and texting while operating a vehicle.

He is being held in the Floyd County Jail on $22,400 bond.

Sexual exploitation of children

A Rome man was indicted on a felony sexual exploitation of children charge. Reynaldo Baltazar is accused of attempting to make arrangements with a 13-year-old child to meet him at the Armuchee post office to engage in a sexual act in November.

Baltazar is being held without bond on a parole hold for a previous burglary charge at the Floyd County Jail.

Aggravated sexual battery

A Lindale was indicted on and aggravated sexual battery charges regarding acts which occurred between 2009 and 2014, according to jail records.

Jimmy Harold Duncan, 38, is accused of penetrating a person with a foreign object and digitally, several times between Jan. 1, 2009, and Oct. 4, 2014.

He was living in Lindale in October 2013 when he was arrested at his home with a disassembled stolen motorcycle and charged with felony theft by receiving stolen property.

Duncan was found guilty of that charge, and possession of methamphetamine, in December 2016. He was sentenced to 10 years, with two to serve, according to the Georgia Department of Corrections website.

The charge in the indictment does not necessarily show all the charges filed against a person accused of a crime. Others on the list from last week’s deliberations are:

Angela P. Veach, serious injury by vehicle

Adrienne Baitey, aggravated assault

Clayton Fugate, aggravated assault

Randy E. Hunter, aggravated stalking

Dakota E. Johnson, aggravated assault

Gary L. Collins, aggravated assault
