With the holiday season approaching fast, the annual Downtown Holiday Open House will bring joy, excitement and cheer to downtown Rome on November 20 from 4 to 7 p.m. and November 21 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and local businesses are encouraged to participate.

The two-day event sponsored by the Office of Downtown Development will encompass the traditional nostalgia of the holidays in the beautiful main street setting of Broad Street. Along with downtown shopping, locals can enjoy free trolley rides with Santa and Mrs. Clause on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Also on Saturday, children ages 10 and younger can experience the magic of the Downtown Candy Cane Hunt at 1 p.m. at the Town Green presented by the Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation Department. Sponsored by Publix, Heritage First Bank and David Prusakowski State Farm, children will search the Town Green lawn for candy canes galore. Scoop and Cookie of sweetFrog will be at the Candy Cane Hunt along with Santa and Mrs. Clause.

Businesses are encouraged to add to the fun by providing refreshments and discounts. For businesses that wish to participate, email information on specials to downtown2@romega.us. The Office of Downtown Development will advertise business and event details on the Downtown Rome, GA Facebook Page.
