Floyd County fifth-grade Kaleidoscope students recently traveled to the Burton 4-H Center on Tybee Island to participate in an environmental education program. The program is customized with specific objectives requested by visiting groups. Kaleidoscope students experienced shark dissection, marsh ecology, reptile and sea turtle education as well as beach activities. Students also toured nearby Fort Pulaski and enjoyed a dolphin cruise. Through the program, students developed an awareness, knowledge and appreciation for Georgia’s natural environment and coastal ecosystems.
