Jody Michelle Watson and Mark Andrew Turner were married at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, June 6, 2015, at The Atrium in Norcross.
The bride is the daughter of Joe Hill Watson and Nancy Runninger Watson of Rome. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Raymond Turner of Stockbridge, Michigan.
The Rev. Robert Brown of Rome performed the double-ring ceremony. The bridesmaids were Jennifer Watson Odil of Woodstock, sister of the bride and Beth Watson Kendall of Decatur, sister of the bride.
The flower girls were Lillian Riley Kendall, niece of the bride and Summer Elizabeth Hill, niece of the groom. The ring bearer was Roman Alexander Odil, nephew of the bride. He carried the groom’s ring in a decorative pill box owned by the bride’s late grandmother, Mary Gibson Runninger.
The bride, given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, chose a white, strapless, embroidered lace gown with an embellished belt. She carried a bouquet of white roses, peonies, button mums, and white calla lilies. The father of the groom was best man. James Patrick Turner, brother of the groom, was a groomsman. Following the ceremony, a reception was held at The Atrium.
The evening before the wedding, the groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at Aqua Blue in Roswell. Other pre-nuptial parties included a stock the bar party hosted by Ryan and Cindy Walters, Evan and Beth Kendall, Brandon and Jennifer Odil, Doug and Sheila Harmony, and Leigh Hummel at the Walters’ home in Brookhaven; a lingerie shower hosted by high school friends at Catherine Johnson’s home in Marietta; a miscellaneous shower hosted by Sally Caesar and Fran Jordan at Sally Caesar’s home in Rome; a miscellaneous shower hosted by coworkers at Chesney Elementary; and a bachelorette party hosted by Beth Kendall, Jennifer Odil, and Cindy Walters in Atlanta.
After a wedding trip to Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands, the couple is residing in Roswell.
