Foster - Landers wedding

MR. and MRS. WILLIAM and JAMIE FOSTER

Jamie Brooke Landers and William Randall Foster were married at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 23, 2017 at New Armuchee Baptist Church in Armuchee.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Brooks Landers of Rome and the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. James E. Holcombe, the late Mr. Brooks Landers and the late Veronica Landers Griffis. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Randall Foster of Armuchee and the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. James E. Foster of Calhoun and the late Mr. and Mrs. W. G. Scoggin, Jr.  

The groom, Sgt. William R. Foster, is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps.

A program of wedding music was performed by Mrs. Cheryl Cox and per request of the groom, the couple exited the ceremony to the theme from Indiana Jones to begin their great adventure.

Officiant, Dr. David Howard of Armuchee performed the double ring ceremony.

Shanna Landers Mast, sister of the bride, of Nairobi, Kenya served as matron of honor and Crystal Odgers of Rome served as maid of honor.  

Randy Foster, father of the groom, of Armuchee, served as the best man and Jeff Davis of Rome, the groomsman. Dalton Tyson served as an honorary groomsman.

The bride was escorted by her father, who gave her in marriage. She wore an ivory and cafe satin A-line Essense of Australia gown.  

The groom wore his decorated Marine Corps Dress Blues.  

Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the Morris Annex of the church.

The Sweet Bar provided a four-tier white wedding cake with buttercream icing that had been decorated with fondant poinsettias created by the mother of the bride, Sharon Landers. A red velvet groom’s cake depicting lightsabers from the Star Wars franchise was also served.  

The evening before the wedding, the groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at New Armuchee Baptist Church.

Other pre-nuptial parties included a shower given by the ladies of New Armuchee Baptist church; a shower given by Mrs. Kay Scoggin George and Mrs. Von Salmon Alford; and a shower given by the Foster family.

Following a cruise to the Caribbean, the couple will reside in Rome.
