Local musicians Scott Thompson and Brent McDonald, along with a few of their friends, will be putting a new twist on classic Christmas songs when they present “Christmas Back Home” on Dec. 1.
The show will take place at the Rome City Auditorium starting at 7:30 p.m.
The two musicians will be leading an eight-piece band through some of the most well-known and well-loved Christmas songs.
“So many of the classic songs you know, but with a twist,” Thompson said. “We’ll do a little jazz, a little blues, some Dixieland and country too.”
Thompson said the band will feature himself, McDonald, Dave Schliessman, Shane West, Mark Strickland and the Clock Tower of Power brass section — Marc Johnson on saxophone and woodwinds, Adam Daniel on trumpet and flugelhorn and Anthony Avitollo on trombone.
Santa will also be making an appearance at the event and will be available after the show for photos.
General admission tickets are available in advance for $15 online at www.christmasbackhome.com and at the door on the night of the show for $20.
