The Rome Symphony Orchestra’s two upcoming events promise a little music as well as some magic.

As part of its “Concerts and Cocktails” lecture series, the symphony’s guest artists — illusionist and escape artist Landon Swank and Maestro Jeff Dokken — will be appearing at Off Broad (inside Hawthorne Suites Hotel) Oct.12 for a trick or treat happy hour of magic and music.

Admission is $20 and guests will get to meet both artists up close and personal, learn about the upcoming concert and witness some live magic and slight-of-hand tricks performed by Las Vegas illusionist Landon Swank. Swank has appeared on 12 episodes of the hit television competition “America’s Got Talent.”

Dokken is a composer in residence for the National Kaiser Permanente Foundation and conducts the North Virginia Symphony Orchestra in Richmond.

The event will take place at Off Broad and artists will arrive at 5:30 p.m. Admission is $20 at the door and includes a complimentary cocktail.

On Saturday, the RSO will present “Symphonic Magic”, a concert with Swank performing feats of live magic timed to some of the most popular selections of classical music performed by the symphony and conducted by Dokken.

This event will take place at the Rome City Auditorium on Saturday, Oct. 14 starting at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets are $22 in advance and $27 at the door for adults, $12 in advance and $17 at the door for seniors, $7 in advance and $10 at the door for students 13-17 or with student ID and $6 for children 12 and under.
