Georgia urged to better market, promote its music

A committee from the Georgia House of Representatives released a report Jan. 22 which urges the aggressive promotion of the state's music talent, business, education and tourism, as well as the music component of the Georgia Entertainment Industry Investment Act..

"Based on our findings, I believe that Georgia has the potential to become an internationally recognized entertainment and media hub,” said State Rep. Ben Harbin, chairman of the House Industry Study Committee.

The committee held five public hearings during 2013 to get feedback from music industry professionals, as well as the general public regarding the successes and challenges that the industry faces in Georgia.
