Georgia Power announced that Zachary Trammell of Rome has been selected to receive a $2,500 scholarship from the company to study biological science at the University of Alabama. Trammell is one of 20 deserving
students statewide who were selected from 140 applicants for a scholarship based on academic achievement, leadership, character, integrity, and school and community activities.
The Georgia Power Scholarship Program was created by former Georgia Power and Southern Co. President and CEO Bill Dahlberg and has provided scholarships to students for more than 25 years.
Scholarships are available to dependents of all permanent, full-time Georgia Power employees and retirees.
