The Floyd-Rome Retired Educators Association gives scholarships each year to education majors who have good academic records, are good citizens and are recommended by their college or university.

This year, four scholarships for $600 each were given to Julie Bohannon from Georgia Highlands/University of West Georgia, Hannah Camacho from Berry College, Kaitlin Little from Shorter University and JoAnna Parker from Georgia Northwestern Technical College. Only Camacho and Parker were able to attend a recent meeting. The scholarships were presented by Daphnie Morrison, chairperson of the scholarship committee.
