Former Roman earns doctorate from Mercer University

The Rev. Dr. Luther McDaniel, formerly of Rome, has completed requirements to earn his doctorate degree. McDaniel, now residing in Athens where he is the principal of Whitehead Elementary School, grew up in the Rome City Schools system and later became a teacher and assistant principal at Rome High School. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Berry College, his Master of Arts degree from Jacksonville State University, and his doctorate degree from Mercer University, Atlanta. McDaniel is also licensed to preach the Gospel.

McDaniel and his wife, Cristina, have three children, Brandon, Diego and Sofia. He is the son of Carrie and Ezekiel McDaniel Sr. of Rome.
