Sarah Elizabeth O’Rourke and Charlie Edward Culberson, Jr. were married on Saturday, November 5, 2011 at St. James United Methosit Church in Augusta.
Rev. Robert Gillespie officiated. Sarah is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael A. O’Rourke, Jr. of Evans. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter H. Harwood, Jr. of Augusta, and the late Ms. Gladys T. O’Rourke. She is a 2005 graduate of Greenbrier High School and will graduate in May 2012 from the RN program at Darton College.
Charlie is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles E. Culberson, Sr of Plainville. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. David E. Olson Jr. and the late Mr. and Mrs. Calvain Culberson Sr. of Rome. He is a 2007 graduate of Calhoun High School and is currently on the 40-man roster for the San Francisco Giants.
Given in marriage by her parents, Sarah chose her sister, Rebekah M. O’Rourke of Evans to serve as her maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Mary Douglas Kilmas of Augusta, Caroline Kenrick of Evans, Lauren Gunter Dinwiddie of Athens, Abbey Carter of Atlanta, Lindsay Harwood Lively, Leigh Ann Harwood, both of Augusta, Mary Alice Gallagher of Cleveland, Tenn., cousins of the bride; and Chelce Culberson Dixon of Rome, sister of the groom.
The flower girls were Presley Dixon and Kendall Dixon of Rome, neices of the groom, and Lohrelei Weatherford of Grovetown. Charlie chose his brother-in-law, Chad Dixon of Rome, to serve as his best man. Groomsmen were Tom Hickman, Suston Thomas, Brodie Pullen, Jarrett Didrick, all of Rome, Hayden Hayes of Trion, Nick Noonan of San Diego, Calif., and Josh Smoker of Sugar Valley.
Ushers were Carleton Gallagher, Charles Gallaher, Jordan Harwood, all cousins of the bride, and Lance Gilbreath.
Following the ceremony, a reception ws held at the Old Medical College in Augusta.
