Restaurant to provide seasonal offerings on its menu

Rome businessman Bob Blumberg has opened his new restaurant, Seasons, on Broad Street. Chances are pretty good you’ll see Blumberg in the mid-clock crosswalk a lot in the future. The restaurateur said he’d be splitting his time between Seasons and Johnny New York Style Pizza, Broad Street, his first eatery in downtown Rome.

Seasons is open Tuesday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and again from 5 – 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday the restaurant is open 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The menu is a seasonal menu that changes with the availability of produce, fish and the change of the weather. “In the summer we’ll go with lighter meals, in the winter we’ll go with heavier meals,” Blumberg said. “The cocktail menu will do the same thing, more refreshing type drinks in the summer and go with more bourbons and ryes in the winter.”

Blumberg believes his menu will offer something for just about everyone’s tastes. The premier menu features three different types of steaks, two different types of chickens, short ribs, two fresh seafoods, pasta, even a vegetarian plate. The lunch menu features a BLT that is different from the traditional bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwich with naan-bread, which is flat bread. It also features chipotle mayo, avocado, arugula and thick-cut bacon. The hamburger is a mixture of 60 percent brisket, 30 percent sirloin and 10 percent chopped beef to offer a very rich tasting hamburger.

The restaurant opened with 22 employees.
