Several Rome officials will be leading panel discussions at the upcoming Georgia Municipal Association annual convention June 21-25 in Savannah.
Attorney Andy Davis will preside over the City Attorney’s session where presenters are expected to talk about issues including sovereign immunity and crisis management.
Commissioner Evie McNiece will lead discussions regarding revenue and finance. Given changes to the Georgia Tax Code over the last several legislative sessions, the group will hear from Jay Powell, chairman of the House Rules committee and new Department of Revenue Commissioner David Curry.
Commissioner Wendy Davis will serve as the moderator for a session called “Dollars and Censu$: Make Them Count. Thurman Tillman, a Census Partnership Specialist will be on the panel along with Department of Community Affairs Deputy Commissioner Rusty Haygood, who is co-chair of the Georgia Complete Count committee.
