Floyd Family Medicine Residency names new chief residents

Floyd’s Family Medicine Residency program has named Dr. Jacquelyn Cheatham-Terry and Dr. Patrick J. Lynn as Chief Residents for the new academic year that began July 1.

Chief Residents are selected and voted upon by their peers and are approved by faculty and staff. During their one-year term, they will serve in a leadership role, acting as liaisons between residents and faculty.

Dr. Cheatham-Terry received a Bachelor of Science in biology from Ohio State University and earned her medical doctorate at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, Philadelphia, PA.

Dr. Lynn completed his undergraduate work at Georgia Institute of Technology, earning a Bachelor of Science in biomedical engineering. He earned his medical doctorate at University of Florida College of Medicine, Gainesville, FL.

The residency program is also introducing its incoming class of residents:

Kendrick Currie, M.D. received a Bachelor of Science in microbiology from Mississippi State University in Starkville, MS. He earned his medical doctorate from University of Mississippi School of Medicine in Jackson, MS. He is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, the American Medical Association, Mississippi Academy of Family Physicians and the Mississippi Medical Association.

Curtis Glidewell, M.D. received a Bachelor of Science in biological engineering from Mississippi State University in Starkville, MS. He earned his medical doctorate from University of Mississippi School of Medicine in Jackson, MS. He is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, the American Medical Association and the Mississippi State Medical Association.

Amanda Hafer, D.O. received a Bachelor of Science in biological sciences from Bachelor of Science in biological sciences, Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in Blacksburg, VA and her doctorate of osteopathic medicine from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Bradenton, FL. She is a member of the American Osteopathic Association and the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians.

Natalie Nekouian, D.O. received a Bachelor of Arts in biology from Westminster College in Fulton, MO. She earned a doctorate of osteopathic medicine from Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Tulsa, OK. She is a member of the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians, the American Medical Women’s Association and the American Osteopathic Information Association.

Ryan Shingler, D.O. received a Bachelor of Science in animal science from the University of Georgia in Athens and earned a doctorate of osteopathic medicine from West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in Lewisburg, WV. He is a member of the American College of Family Physicians.

Benjamin Smith, D.O. earned a Bachelor of Science in biochemistry from Sonoma State University in Rohnert Park, CA and a doctorate of osteopathic medicine from Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine of Midwestern University in Glendale, AZ. He is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the American College of Osteopathic Family Justin L. Smith, M.D. received his Bachelor of Science in biology from Delta State University in Cleveland, MS. He earned doctorate of medicine at University of Mississippi School of Medicine in Jackson, MS. He is a member of the American Medical Association and the American Academy of Family Physicians.

Amana E. Spencer, M.D. earned a Bachelor of Science in pre-medicine from Pensacola Christian College, Pensacola, FL and her doctorate of medicine from Ross University School of Medicine, Commonwealth of Dominica. She is a member of the Christian Medical & Dental Associations.

Floyd’s Family Medicine Residency program provides residents with a three-year comprehensive experience that gives residents hands-on opportunities in an environment of camaraderie, teamwork and family.
