Judy Hall and Kimberly Barone, co-owners and stylists of Serenity Hair Salon, answer the questions for today’s Small Business Snapshot:

What is the primary purpose of your business? To serve the residents of our community by giving the best care and service through performing our passion in hair care at an affordable price.

We are a full service hair salon that offers haircuts, color, high and low lights, foiling, perms and waxing. We offer these services for all ages of men, women and children.

We also have a side ramp to accommodate wheelchair clients and clients with walkers.

What is the business background of the owners? Judy has been in the hair industry for about 28 years and worked in several locations in Rome before becoming co-owner at Serenity Hair Salon.  Kimberly has been a successful business owner in various areas since 2001. She received her master cosmetologist license after graduating at Genesis Career College. She has been doing hair since 2013.

Why did you start this particular business? We had a great opportunity to expand our passion and desires to our community in the hair salon. We officially opened Serenity Hair Salon on July 1, 2016.  We both enjoy interacting with people.

What makes your business unique? Serenity is unique in that we strive to have a culture of serving. In serving we try to be affordable for everyone and show humility and kindness to all. We have a great friendship and work so well together.

What do you enjoy most about your chosen profession? What we enjoy most about our profession is helping others look and feel better about themselves.

What has been the biggest challenge to overcome as small business owners? The biggest challenge is building clientele. It is getting people to know that we are here and ready to serve their needs.

Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers? We have booths open for rent.  If there are any stylists with a clientele looking for a new home we welcome you to come by and see us or give us a call at 706-204-8225.

Each of us would like to invite our old clients and new clients to come see us at Serenity Hair Salon at 8 Coker Drive.  For appointments please call 706-204-8225, and walk-ins are welcome, too.  We look forward to seeing you!
