Co-owners of Golden Errands LLC, John Adams and Latisha Stanley, are answering the questions for today’s Small Business Snapshot.
What is the primary purpose of your business?
To give peace of mind and independence to aging parents, disabled persons and anyone who could use a helping hand.
What is your business background?
John Adams – Wealth management and sales.
Tish Stanley – Senior services and website development. I have a Bachelor’s degree in marketing management and am currently pursuing a Master’s degree in management at Shorter College
Why did you start this particular business?
Tish- My grandmother is constantly needing help with technical support or errand running. I wanted to be able to help other individuals who may need the same kind of help, but they are too proud to ask for help from family, or their families are simply too busy in this fast-paced world.
What makes your business unique?
John- With the “I’m Okay Today” program you have a local agent who can come to your home at a moment’s notice, unlike many senior well-being call services who may be in Indianapolis or India.
What do you enjoy most about your chosen profession?
John- Helping seniors and potentially saving lives, making people’s lives easier, anybody can feel good about that.
What has been the biggest challenge to come over as a small business owner?
John- There is a definite need here for our services, but making people aware of them has been the biggest challenge.
Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
Tish- Our services are not limited to the age 55 and up market. Often times, new moms or working professionals may need a little help from time to time.
