Final: Delmarva 7, Rome 3

How it happened: Preston Palmeiro hit a three-run double in the seventh inning, leading the Delmarva Shorebirds to a 7-3 win over the Rome Braves on Monday.

The double by Palmeiro capped a four-run inning and gave the Shorebirds a 6-3 lead after Jake Ring hit an RBI single earlier in the inning.

The Shorebirds tacked on another run in the eighth when Ryan McKenna scored on a double play.

Starter Lucas Humpal (6-8) got the win while Ryan Schlosser (0-1) took the loss in relief in the South Atlantic League game.

For the Braves, Anthony Concepcion tripled and singled.

With the win, Delmarva improved to 5-1 against Rome this season.

Next Game: The Braves will conclude their series against the Delmarva Shoebirds today at 1 p.m.
