Final: Rome 2, Asheville 1
How it happened: Outfielder Bradley Keller returned to the Rome Braves and hit a solo home run in the seventh that gave the home team the lead and saved its winning streak, which is now at 10 games. After back-to-back games went extra innings, Rome and Asheville kept things low key with only six hits each and the Tourists’ lone run coming on a sacrifice fly by Tyler Nevin. The Braves tied the game on a Kevin Josephina RBI single with two out in the second.
Who did what for Rome: Keller scored both runs for Rome, doubling to left field in the second and going 2 for 3.
On the mound: Joey Wentz (7-3) got the win after allowing just two hits and striking out nine in seven innings of work while walking one. New addition Walter Borkovich earned the save as he struck out two in two scoreless innings of relief.
Next Game: Rome and Asheville complete their four-game series this afternoon with a 2 p.m. start.
