Final: Greensboro 4, Rome 1

How it happened: J.C. Millan doubled and singled twice as the Greensboro Grasshoppers beat the Rome Braves 4-1 on Friday. Rome cut the deficit to 2-1 in the fifth after Marcus Mooney hit an RBI single, bringing home Carlos Martinez. Greensboro answered in the top of the next frame when Millan hit an RBI single, scoring Eric Gutierrez. The Grasshoppers tacked on another run in the eighth when Brian Miller drew a bases-loaded walk, scoring Jarett Rindfleisch. Greensboro right-hander Max Duval (3-0) picked up a quality start and the win after allowing one run on six hits over six innings. Opposing starter Alan Rangel (2-5) took the tough loss in the South Atlantic League game after allowing two runs and six hits over five innings. Michael Mertz pitched two scoreless innings for his third save of the season. For the Braves, Mooney singled three times. Greensboro remains undefeated against Rome this season at 5-0.
