ROME BRAVES RECAP: Columbia edges Rome

How it happened: Andres Gimenez hit a walk-off single with two outs in the ninth inning, as the Columbia Fireflies defeated the Rome Braves 6-5 on Monday. Ian Strom scored the game-winning run after he hit a single with two outs and stole second. The Braves tied the game 5-5 in the top of the ninth when Isranel Wilson scored on a wild pitch as part of a two-run inning. Reliever Keaton Aldridge (1-1) picked up the win after he struck out one while allowing two runs and three hits over one inning. Ryan Schlosser (0-6) went 1 2/3 innings, allowing one run and one hit in the South Atlantic League game.

Next Game: The Braves will be back at home today to begin a six-game homestand at State Mutual Stadium. The Braves will start a three-game series against the Lexington Legends tonight at 7 p.m. The Braves will then host another three-game series against the Greensboro Grasshoppers beginning Friday.
