The county sheriff's office today reported it had few leads as detectives investigated a shooting at a south Paulding home Monday night, May 13, that left one man injured.
The unidentified man was transported to an area hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening after the incident at 49 Lakemoore Court in unincorporated Douglasville in south Paulding County, said Sgt. Ashley Henson of the Paulding County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies responded about 9:20 p.m. to an E-911 call about a shooting at the residence which is near Baker's Bridge Road, Henson said.
"Paulding deputies responded to the scene and found that the street in front of the home was littered with shell casings and the home had been shot a multitude of times," he said.
Henson said detectives found that the residents "initially thought someone was shooting fireworks outside of the home until they started seeing bullets flying through the walls."
"As a result of the shooting, one male received a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the torso," Henson said.
Detectives today, May 14, did not have descriptions of a suspect or vehicle and no motive as to why the residence was targeted, Henson said.
Those with information on the shooting incident were asked to call the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division at 770-443-3015, he said.
