Cobb Police have charged a 19-year-old Paulding County man in connection to last week’s shooting death of a Powder Springs man.
Austin Postell of Hiram is being held without bond at the Cobb County Adult Detention Center. He was arrested Wednesday evening after being interviewed by officers from the Cobb County Police Department Crimes Against Persons Unit, according to department spokesperson Sgt. Dana Pierce.
Postell’s charges of felony murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during commission of a crime stem from an investigation into the death of 20-year-old Rodeney Koen. Police were called about a person shot about 12:40 a.m. Saturday at a home on Hunter Road, off Old Lost Mountain Road near the intersection of Richard D. Sailors Parkway. When officers arrived, they found Koen’s body, which had suffered multiple gunshot wounds on the front walkway of a home, Pierce said.
