Chattooga sheriff looking for Atlanta man accused of robbing Lyerly convenience store
SUMMERVILLE — A 47-year-old armed robber has struck again, according to Chattooga County Sheriff’s reports.
Willie Ray Durrah, of Atlanta, is accused of robbing BJ’s Food Mart in Lyerly on Feb. 16, according to reports. This isn’t the first time Durrah has been accused.
He’s spent 14 years in prison for armed robbery and voluntary manslaughter. He was released in prison in 2006 and now has struck again.
Now, he has allegedly struck again in Lyerly. This time Durrah is accused of snatching lottery tickets from BJ’s Food Mart clerk Matt Dye.
“[Durrah] did commit the offense when he suddenly reached across the counter and snatched a pack of lottery tickets. [Durrah] then proceeded to run out of the store with the tickets. [Durrah’s] actions were recorded on a store surveillance system. The lottery tickets were returned to the store except two, which were not recovered,” Deputy Wendell Flood reported.
