Update: Cartersville police looking for driver who struck and killed pedestrian

Cartersville police are looking for a driver who struck and killed a pedestrian Wednesday night near the intersection of Hwy. 20 and Hwy. 411 in Cartersville.

According to Lt .M.E. Bettikofer of the Cartersville Police Department:

At approximately 9:27 p.m. a vehicle struck a pedestrian while crossing the road. The pedestrian has been identified as a 58-year-old John Melvin Turner of Cartersville.

The vehicle fled the scene before police arrived. The vehicle may be an SUV and likely has front end damage.
