A 22-year-old man is in jail on a theft charge after he reportedly stole a motorcycle Wednesday morning, reports stated

According to Adairsville Police Department reports:

A resident on Poplar Spring Road reported to police a motorcycle had been stolen from the home around 7 a.m. when he went inside after warming up his car.

After taking the report officers were checking the area when they observed a tent in some woods beside the cemetery on Poplar Springs Road. The officers noticed what appeared to be taillights in the area of the tent.

They found the stolen motorcycle and found 22-year-old Cory Shane Ellis hiding underneath some household materials.

Ellis told police he was homeless and that’s why he was sleeping in the woods. Ellis was arrested without incident and subsequently transported to the Bartow County Jail. He is charged with theft by taking motor vehicle and criminal trespass.
