The Heritage wrestling team finished second out of 15 teams on Saturday in the Forsyth Central Tournament.

Heritage 182-pounder Michael Moore was the only Generals for the day.

Generals head coach Mike Craft said it was Moore's first-ever tournament championship.

"They stepped up and did well, Craft said of his Generals. "Chestatee is a strong team in AAAA. We had to hold them off. They were on our heels trying to overtake us. I was proud of Michael Moore for getting first. I think he told me that was his first tournament championship."

Craft said he thought this was a good tournament to get some experience heading into the region tournament. The Generals will compete on Friday at Ringgold against the Tigers and Dade County, scheduled at 5 p.m.

"We had some guys make some mistakes, but it's better to make them now instead of the region," he said.

Isaiah Knight (113), Tyler Hill (120) and Justin Locke (220) were runners-up and Blaine Bird (145) was fourth.

In Junior Varsity action, Casey Ridley won the championship at 126-pounds, Austin Kibble (195) was runner-up,  Alex Floyd (145) was third and Devin Swafford (120) placed fourth.
