The Gordon Lee Trojans and Lady Trojans tennis teams finally got in the win column on Wednesday with a pair of victories at county neighbor Ridgeland.
The Trojans won 3-1 in the boys' match. Joseph Looney beat Sam Snyder, 6-0, 6-1, at No. 1 singles, and Jonathan Bettis stopped Dakota Phillipps, 6-3, 6-1, at No. 2 singles. The Panthers got a point at No. 3 singles as Lief Atchley beat Chandler Steele, 6-3, 6-4.
Gordon Lee's team of Logan Davis and Kalen Bradley won by forfeit at No. 1 doubles, while there was a double forfeit at No. 2 doubles.
On the girls' side, the Lady Trojans earned a 5-0 sweep.
Madison Hilley beat Tiffany Culpepper at No. 1 singles, 6-2, 6-0. Katie Barger defeated Erica Taylor at No. 2 singles by the same score, and at No. 3 singles Bonnie Hankins outlasted Megan Hise, 7-8, 6-3, 1-0.
Gordon Lee swept the doubles matches with identical 6-0, 6-0 scores. Sara Clayton and Katherine Chambers beat Brittany Gravitte and Megan Barns, while Tori McElhaney and Sara Holcomb teamed up for a win over Somi Kim and Courtney Green.
Both Gordon Lee teams are now 1-4 on the season.
Gordon Lee is scheduled for a home match at noon on Saturday against Dalton, while Ridgeland will take the court again on April 2 at LaFayette.
