The Rome Wolves soccer team posted their fifth win of the season with a 3-0 shut out over Cass on Wednesday night.

The Wolves got started off early when Dylan Horne scored off an assist from Hampton Cauthen in just the seventh minute of the game.

Horne followed up with another goal, this time assisted by Ivan Fortanel, in the 18th minute of play to give Rome a 2-0 edge at the half.

The Wovles held off any offensive attempts by Cass for the rest of the game, as Kelvin Cano scored one more goal for the Wolves, assisted by Horne, to seal the win at 3-0 in the 68th minute.

“I felt like our kids played well overall,” said Rome coach Chris Cochran. “We had a good effort and the kids fought hard.”

Rome had 17 shots on the goal and held Cass to just six shots on the goal.

“We missed several shots throughout the game, but overall our kids had a good game,” added Cochran.

Rome is now 5-2 overall and 1-1 in the region.

The Wolves will be hoping to boost their region record when they host North Paulding on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
