The Rome High boys didn’t dominate the game on Friday night, but they took control when it mattered most.

Facing a North Paulding team that owns a winless region record, the Wolves staged a fourth-quarter rally to post a 70-68 victory on the road on Friday night.

Matthew Scott scored 23 points and Donald Johnson added 20 for the Wolves.

Rome trailed 54-49 at the end of the third quarter but outscored North Paulding 21-14 in the final eight minutes to continue their late-season surge.

The Wolves (8-16, 5-9) have won five of their past seven region games and have posted an 8-5 record in their past 13 games after opening the season 0-11.

Rome closes the regular season at Woodland on Tuesday.
