The Rockmart High School wrestling team sent nine wrestlers to the Class AAA west sectionals tournament last weekend, and six advanced through the brackets to qualify for the Class AAA state tournament.

Competing at Ringgold High School, the Yellow Jackets Zack Kirby, Marlon Morales, Dennis Wolfe, Nick Forsyth, Jason Wolfe, and Brett Arnold all finished in the top four of their respective weight classes to advance to Macon.

Dakota Wilson placed fifth to finish as a alternate for the state tournament, which means if one of the four wrestlers ahead of him is unable to compete, he can wrestle in Macon.
