The Rockmart High School Yellow Jackets tennis team improved to 6-0 overall and 4-0 in Region 4-AAA play on Thursday by dominating Haralson County 5-0.

Mason Barnette and Matt Giudice once again led the Yellow Jackets by picking up a pair of convincing wins.

“It is so great to see Mason and Matt win so often after paying their dues early in their tennis careers,” Yellow Jackets head coach Wayne Brooks said.

Barnette won at No. 1 singles, 6-2, 6-0 while Giudice carved up his opponent at No. 2 singles, 6-0, 6-0.

“He has just been amazing,” Brooks said of Giudice.

Tristan Adams won at No. 3 singles, 6-2, 6-1.

In doubles play, Steven Dean and Tyler Baulding-Woods picked up an easy win at No. 1 doubles. At No. 2 doubles, Jared Brumbelow and Dustin Adams won 6-0, 6-0.

“The team just looks so confident and strong right now,” Brooks said. “I just hope they are able to ride this confidence to the state tournament.”

Rockmart will play their fourth match in four days on Friday, playing their Polk County rivals Cedartown.

Next week, Rockmart will host Chapel Hill on Tuesday and play at Callaway on Thursday in a pair of region matches. If the Yellow Jackets win both matches, they will be the 2013 Region 4-AAA regular season champions.
