Playing in an important Region 4-AAA tennis match on Thursday, the Rockmart Yellow Jackets continued their season long dominance as they downed Callaway 5-0.

Matt Giudice won at No. 1 singles 6-3, 6-4.

“Matt has won easily this entire season but Thursday was a dog fight the whole afternoon,” Yellow Jackets head coach Wayne Brooks said. “He was down 3-0 before coming back to win the first set 6-3. The second set was a nip and tuck kind of set and Matt toughed it out and outlasted his opponent 6-4.”

At No. 2 singles, Mason Barnette won 6-1, 5-7, 10-8.

"Mason had an even rougher time," Brooks said. "He eventually won in a third set super tiebreaker. His opponent just chased down every shot Mason hit, and Mason just kept fighting to stay ahead the whole match."

At No. 3 singles, Tristan Adams won 6-4, 6-3.

Steven Dean and Tyler Baulding-Woods won at No. 1 doubles 6-4, 6-2.

"They looked amazing," Brooks said.

At No. 2 doubles, Jonathan Badon and Tyler Black won 8-1.

"We had to play a pro-8 set because their lights weren't working and we were running out of daylight," Brooks said.
