The Rockmart Lady Jackets were nearly perfect in their Region 4-AAA crossover win on Thursday.
Hosting Coretta Scott King, the Lady Jackets scored 11 runs in the first inning en route to a 17-0 win in three innings. Rockmart had 10 hits and gave up none during a game that took less than an hour to play.
Rockmart (9-4, 4-1) used three different pitchers to dominate the Lady Eagles. Anne Marie Robinson pitched the first inning, striking out all three batters. Kalli Smith pitched the second frame, forcing two ground ball outs and recording one strikeout. Regan Whitaker tossed the final inning, striking out three and walking one.
Offensively, Kaitlin Bradfield hit a two-run homer while Hannah Bowman went 2-for-2 with an RBI and Caroline Motes finished 2-for-3.
Savannah Sewell hit a two-run double and Smith had an RBI double. Makallie Dellinger, Abbigail Wilson and Whitaker also had doubles.
Cassidy Faulk and Rebecca Argo each added singles.
Rockmart had five batters walked, one hit and four more reached base on an error.
The Lady Jackets will play this weekend in the tournament in Adairsville.
