Catoosa County had three wrestlers win second place this evening in the traditional state championship in Macon, including, Isaah Knight (113), Michael Moore (182) and Sam Sheppard (120).

Heritage's Knight was pinned by Greg Hilliard of Lumpkin County in Class AAA, as the Generals finished sixth overall.

Heritage's Moore fell, 6-0, to Travis Joyce of Carrollton.

Ringgold's Shepard finished second to McNair's Khalil Williams in Class AAA.

In Walker County action, the Gordon Lee wrestling program won its first ever traditional state title in Class A this evening in Macon.

The Trojans, who won seven of their 10 semifinal matches on Friday, scored 187 points to runners-up Holy Innocents' 171.

The Navy-and-Blue had 12 grapplers finish in the top six, including three state champions.

Senior Alex Spires (138) won his third state title for Gordon Lee.

Sophomore Jonny Ragsdale (113) won his second, while senior Will Jacks (145) won his first.
